Stuart and Mandy

Here is Stuart and his wife Mandy. Our pastors in Eaton

I grew up just outside Grimsby in Lincolnshire, but left at the age of 16 to join the RAF.

During my training as a Radar Engineer I heard the evangelist Eric Delve speak of how Jesus died a gruesome death to pay for the things I had done wrong: I realised that I needed forgiveness and that I wanted to be a follower of Jesus.

Whilst serving at RAF Neatishead near Norwich I was blessed to meet Mandy.  We have been married since 1988 and have three grown-up children and two grand-children.

In the later part of my RAF career, I studied theology by Distance Learning with London Bible College (now London School of Theology) before being led by God to become a full-time Christian worker.

I served as Pastor of South Park Evangelical Church in Norwich for seven years before the Church took the bold decision to close.  We have now begun The Open Door Christian Fellowship on the South Park Estate where we long to share the love of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those living around us.

While I love the City of Norwich and its people, I still support Grimsby Town Football Club.  I have joined the Eaton Park “Park-Run” through which I hope to improve my fitness and meet people from the local area.

Ronnie and Ruth

Our elders Ronnie and Ruth at The Open Door Fellowship in Norwich

Hello, my name is Ronnie Simpson and I am married to my wife Ruth.  We are both part of the church plant team for the Open Door Christian Fellowship.

I have been a Christian since I was a young person aged around 9 1/2 years old.

I originally came from Jarrow, Tyne and Wear and have lived in Norwich since 1990. I work as a Registered Mental Health Nurse with responsibilities as a Practice Educator primarily with student nurses.

I moved to Norfolk from London where I first met Ruth, where we were both working in a Christian family community centre.

I am an Elder for the Fellowship with responsibilities at this time for leading the worship when we meet. I am also a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association which we aim to meet bikers and others to share the gospel whenever we’re on the road.

The Open Door Christian Fellowship

Ramsey Close, Norwich, NR4 7BQ

Our aim is to create a fellowship in which there is a homely, family feel.  We want everyone to feel genuinely welcome to join us, free to express their thoughts, doubts, fears and failings with no concern that they will be judged.

We want everyone in the fellowship to show and share the love of Jesus by caring for the community in which God has placed us.

Why not come and join us, we’d love to meet you.
